The modified trapezoidal shape of the passive 400-watt YX150 cabinet ensures that it can work in any application including as a front-of-house cabinet, or monitor speaker. Dual bulb CTL™ circuit protection protects the 2-inch neodymium diaphragm horn drivers to ensure the YX150 cabinets' high frequency horn will continue to function, without damage, during typical overload conditions.
The YX150 features metal bar handles, integrated stand mounts, full metal grille, a metal input plate (with 1/4-inch and Speakon™ inputs) as well as an injection molded 90 x 40 degree horn.
Jesse Gordon, Manager of Techical Services, worked with installation specialist Dave Dlugos of Victoria, B.C. and determined that the U15's would be ideally suited for the task in what is in essense a giant cedar log cabin. From the first test, through the first weekend-long Potlatch, the U15's performed brilliantly. The crystal clear sound, even with the unusual, sometimes guttural sounds of the Kwakwa'la language, was commented on by most people attending the event.
