Aaron Slater...

...is an English singer/songwriter whose knack for creating infectious pop melodies and lyrical hooks has taken him and his music across Europe and the US. Born in rural Somerset, Aaron is the son of blues singer/songwriter Michael 'Mutter' Slater - a member of the successful 70's folk-prog band Stackridge, famed for having opened and closed the first Glastonbury Festival. Growing up on 60's pop, Motown and delta blues, and surrounded by instruments and recording equipment, the teenage Aaron became obsessed with cassette recording experiments.

Inspired by the start of the Britpop era in 1996, Aaron soon formed a guitar band and started seriously writing songs and, after creating over 50 original compositions and a promising early recording, was asked to record a professional demo for Interscope Records in Los Angeles. Although a major recording contract wasn't forthcoming, the seeds had been sewn for a career in the music business. Back in the UK, Aaron and his band supported local pop-hopefuls Electrasy and then Elliot Green on tour across England. While working at Vineyard Recording Studio, Aaron was able to continue writing and producing with Steve Kitch (previously one half of Ninja Tune act Omnium)

2002 saw Aaron's career take him to London where he continued performing as a singer/songwriter on the acoustic circuit. Spotted by Take That's Mark Owen, Aaron was even asked to write and audition to be a guitarist on his next solo album, but ultimately that next album never happened. In 2005, after having a song used on BBC's Sports Review Of The Year programme and spreading out on internet radio, Aaron Slater signed a worldwide recording contract with US record label Fiberlineaudio and released singles 'Alien To Me' and 'Supernatural'. After being picked up by Way Out West's Nick Warren and Jody Wisterhoff, Alien To Me became a regular opening track in DJ sets during 2006 at Space in Ibiza, the Miami WMC and on John Digweed's KISS FM show.
